Blackjack or Twenty-one is perhaps the easiest game in any casino to start playing, and is becoming more and more popular as time goes on.

The reason for this is that the house edges are very low with the markets today, and the casinos are having to raise the bets up to account for the higher expected profits per hour over time.

The basics of this game are quite simple. First off a dealer must shuffle the cards. Each card has a certain value attached to it.

For example, an ace is valued as 1 or 11, whereas a card like 10 is valued as 11. The ace can be valued as 1 or 11, leaving the player to decide which value they wish.

The player places their bet, the dealer shuffles, and then deals each player a card. Now any players that have a higher card value than the dealer without overshooting the table may still win. This is known as underhand or hidden card.

Your aim is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. The face cards are each worth 10, and if your cards total 20 or 21 they automatically become True Slots.

The dealer must hit the soft 17 (6 to 1) and has a better than 50% chance of doing so. The dealer has to hit the soft 17 if he has 16 or less. The dealer must stand on a soft 17 if his cards total 17 or more.

Also, if the dealer has an ace and a face card or 10 card as his first two cards, he must draw a card if his total is less than 17 and has to stand on soft 17. The dealer has to draw if his total is more than 17, but if he has a 10 card as his first two cards, the dealer must draw cards if his total is high.

If you are dealt two cards with equal values you have the option of ” splitting ” the cards into two separate hands.

The first hand is the one with the Ace and the 10, King, Queen, and Jack. You must beat the dealer’s hand to win. If you split the first hand you will receive two cards on each hand of the split. Therefore, if you receive Aces and a 10 you will receive two cards, regardless of whether the Ace and 10 are part of the first hand.

The second hand is the hand with the 2 and the Ace. Again, if the dealer beats you to the hand with the Ace, you will lose any money that you may have bet on the first hand.

Always remember that if the dealer beats you to the first hand, you will lose your bet on that hand, whether or not the dealer busts.
